From Pure Online to Hybrid
Wavecast® Pro is an interactive live broadcast platform designed to create a fully interactive environment into which our clients place their online events.
Wavecasts® deliver both pure online and hybrid solutions for event organisers, publishers, associations, government organisations and corporate communications.
What is a Hybrid Event? This is where all or part of a venue based event is also broadcast via a Wavecast® to an additional online audience. There this differs from a simple webinar is that the platform enables interactivity including commentary and polling which both the in situ and virtual audience can participate in.
How does an online solution differ? Wavecasts® also enable you to deliver video content to a purely online audience. Once again the key difference between our platform and other webinar solutions is that the audience can interact online while watching the content, filetering conversations according to criteria such as job title, geography or topic while networking with the other participants.
The Wavecast® platform has been built with revenue creation in mind via sponsorship and other innovative lead generation mechanisms.
A Wavecast® focuses around a live broadcast (usually video but sometimes audio-only) and, as our existing clients have already shown, encourages high levels of social interaction, participation and engagement with the audience over an extended period of time - before, during and after the “live” event.
Inspired initially by Google’s real time communication platform – the now discontinued Google Wave – Wavecasts® aggregate real time conversations with live video broadcasts and surge with episodes of concentrated activity across the event lifecycle.
Wavecast®’s clear focus on the business case for creating online events which are both interactive and sustainable has made it the platform of choice, particularly within the B2B publishing and Association sectors.
Key components and features include:
- Access Control
Event organisers can control who has access to their content in flexible ways. This includes a facility to configure flexible data capture forms; restrict access to delegates-only; and to implement pay-per-view. Registrants can also be assigned to different groups which allow for different content access privileges.
- Live Video
Live video or audio can be broadcast from any video or source. This includes webcams, video and teleconferencing suites and high definition video cameras. Video is broadcast in a range of qualities to desktops, iOS and HTML5 compliant devices as standard.
Video is captured in real time on our servers (Amazon Web Services & Microsoft Azure) and available immediately after the broadcast concludes.
- Activity Feed
An activity feed provides an intuitive and central focal point for both the conversation and the dissemination of valuable content in real-time. Incoming and pre-prepared content can be moderated and managed in the Event Manager.
- Event Schedules & Interactive Programmes
An event programme can be published and allows activity feeds to be attached to multiple sessions. Conversations taking place across different sessions can run concurrently and aggregated within a central feed. As an example, different sessions within a conference schedule can all have their own activity feed and dedicated pages.
- Networking
- Asset Library
- Custom Pages
Wavecasts can support unlimited number of custom pages which can be displayed based on whether a user is logged in (USER) or not (GUEST). Custom pages support full HTML and allow for great flexibility.
All set-up, configuration, and design of the Wavecast can be managed through a simple tablet friendly browser based application. This also allows moderation and control of all content.
